TICC-TOCC IS TEEN ORGANIZING.

The TICC-TOCC Program

Teen Organizing Tips

Backpack:

  1. Dump out contents of backpack.
  2. Remove trash.
  3. Create a file folder for all your On-the-Go papers.
  4. Keep loose supplies at hand in a small zipper pouch.
  5. Keep only items you will be using.
  6. Add a list of emergency numbers and you are good to go.
  7. Clean out at the end of each day and you will always be ready to go.

Locker:

  1. To keep locker organized use shelves, drawers, removable hooks.
  2.  Instead of notes all over, use a dry erase board.
  3. At the end of each week clean out your locker. Then you are ready for the next week.

Bedroom:

The Closet

1.      Organize your clothes in either the order of color, length, or type.

2.      You can also organize your clothes by outfit.

3.      If organizing by type, put all pants in one section.

4.      Fold sweaters and T-shirts on a shelf.

5.      Put up a hook and hang the clothes you are wearing the next day.

6.      No more rushing around putting your outfit together at the last minute.

         The Desk

1.          Depending on the needs of your incoming paperwork, you can create a file system.

2.          There are several ways to keep track of your papers. File cabinets, file boxes, notebooks and file folders.

3.          Examples of incoming papers might be: study guides, previous tests, event flyers/invitations.

4.          You can make labels for all your file folders and you are ready for anything.

What to do with those unused items?

          Garage Sale or Charity

1.      Have a Garage Sale.  Get your friends together and sell all your gently used items.  From the money you make go on a field trip or buy tickets to a concert.

2.      Donate to a charity or your church. You can help someone in need.

With just a few organizing tips you have saved a lot of time and energy.

You now have more time for the things you want to do.
